HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART ONE (2010) 8/10
As a film by itself, it is almost great, but the thing that it falls on is the fact that it did not have a true ending. It can not stand by itself. You look at a film like Kill Bill 1. That is a film that can stand by itself. This film really can't. But, the thing that steals the show is the acting of the main kids. They are at their best now and that is what is the best of this film.
KICK ASS (2010) 9/10
2010 must have been a good year for comic book adaptations. This film, like Scott Pilgrim, pays tribute to something most geeks know about: Comic Books. This film loves comics and pays tribute to so many that this film is great. The only problem has to do with one character, and when you see the film you will know what that is. Overall, wonderful cast, direction, production, and acting.
KING KONG (2005) 9/10
In film theory, it is said that remakes are worse than the original. Apparently, this is not the case for Peter Jackson's Kong. This film is twice as long as the original, dark (the parts of the natives for example), and has more emotion than the original. Acting is great, the script is super, everything is magnificent. Except the score. that was the main draw back.
KIDS (1995) 8.5/10
Larry Clark's 1995 film KIDS is one of the hardest films I have ever seen. Not because there is blood, guts, and gore. But because of the fact that it shows pure naked truth about our generation. The characters in this movie are kids like you and I, but they act like most inner city kids do: Involved with sex, drugs, and crimes beyond anything we can deal with. This film is terrifying in the sense that this actually happens. Hard film to watch, but if taken the time, it is eye opening.
BULLY (2001) 8.5/10
Larry Clark's BULLY, like KIDS, is not at all an easy film to watch. In fact it is harder to watch because this film is a bio-pic about the murder of Bobby Kent. This film paints a realistic profile about the last days of this kids life, and what prompted his friends to kill him. Even though it has some odd direction styles, forty five percent of the movie is teenagers having sex, doing drugs, and the title character raping two people, this is still a worthwhile film to see if you can stomach all of this.
THE VAMPIRE'S ASSISTANT (2010) 3/10
My God, what has happened to vampire cinema? This has to be one of the best examples of why Vampires have turned out to be the laughing stock of all mythological creatures. This films depiction, along with many other creatures are humiliating to say the least. The acting is sloppy, the script could have been much better, the score and direction of the film is not that good. Only watch this if you are a Vampire fan boy/ girl of the Twilight age.
