The Trial Of Cyri. Chapter Two. REVISED.

Chapter Two.

The beauty of some friends is that if you find one that works with you, you always have someone that you can speak with no matter what. That was the kind of friendship that was with Dumas and Zat. Having years of knowing each other, they had a tendency to hang out a lot and discuses some recent events of what happened and their opinions. This afternoon, instead of being in Dumas’ family’s Deli, they decided just to walk around and talked.

The best way to describe what their town looked like was to think of any old metropolis that had given way to the advent of technology and all the original beauty was gone. Like some people, they wished that they could go and resurrect those days when buildings had a certain beauty to it. But, what can one do? Like all forms of art, it was all subjected to change. Traditional hand drawn animation gave to computers doing the work. Actually playing instruments gave way to a program on computers that does the work for you while enhancing your voice. Nothing anyone can do about it.

Dumas had on his mind the overall shock factor that Vincent even had a brother. He never thought possible. He was already aware that so many people (the members of the gang), but it was going to be on his mind for a long while.

“You know man, you really need a girlfriend or get laid sometime.” Zat said, looking ahead of them.

“And why do you say that?”

“Because I know what you are thinking and you need to stop thinking about that all of the damned time.”

“And, Sherlock, what will that be?”

“Blaze. Vincent. The past year. What is happening now.”

“But,” Dumas said, looking at his friend. “It still amazes me that all of this is happening all at once. I mean, take Cyri and Tad. They use to be the closes of friends. Then Cyri started dating Vincent and it broke Tad’s heart. You know that he originally hated Vincent ever sense the drama with Ratliff? Well, he hated him more. In fact, I remember talking to both of them and from what they say, it seems like they hate each other’s flaming guts.”

“All because of Vincent?”

“Not quite. Mostly it was due to Tad thinking that Cyri was a damned fool for being with Vincent due to Tad loving Cyri first.”

“Love: The one thing that destroys most friendships.” Zat said with a chuckle.

“And this is coming from the mouth of the guy who was just saying that I need to be in love.”

“Not be in love, just have some fun for a while.”

“Okay, yeah. Let us not change subjects yet. Later on.”

“Alrighty. But, on the entire thing,” Zat said, stopping next to a store and leaning on it’s brick wall. “I think it is all just their hormones going crazy. I mean, unless Tad became a man who hates women, I doubt with all of my well being that those two will hate each other and stop being friends. Unless they screw each other over royally. If that is the case, then they will be like that one guy in Warner Robins, Georgia that was destroyed by some kids that hated him. They sent him death threats, turned some of his friends against him, mentally ruined him. So, what did he do? Well, lets just say that the night he had his revenge was called: ‘Night of the Reaper’.”

“Shit dude. Okay, they will not hate each other, but what do you think they will do as of now?”

“Well,” Zat said, thinking. “They are going to keep their distance from one another for a while. If they try to talk at all, it will end in complete and utter disaster and that is not good no matter what.” They were both quiet for a few moments as they continued to walk, kicking rocks that were under their feet that were on the side walk.

“What were the girl’s reaction to the news?” Dumas asked, which Zat responded by releasing an annoyed sigh.

“For the most part, the girl’s reaction was the same as ours. They all were not expecting this at all and it just got to them a bit. But, Jadis did have one theory that she is predicting right now: Due to the hell that Cyri spawned on Donnie, life is going to get more shocking and unpredictable by the second.”

“And, how is she aware of this prediction?” Dumas asked looking at Zat.

“Simple: Jadis is a world class hacker that is why.” Zat said, taking out of his coat pocket a bottle of water and taking a sip.
