The Trial Of Cyri. Chapter One. REVISED.

Chapter One.

In films, this would be a scene that the cameraman would scan from a dark hallway and show a light shining down onto a table that would reveal some people (in this case the members of The Children Of Darkness) sitting around with their heads together, either speaking or listening to something. In this case, I would have to go with the later.

They were listening with intention to the cell phone that sat directly in the middle of the table to every word that was uttered by Blaze. They heard Cyri ask him what was his motive for not completely beating the living hell out of Vincent, and they with her shared a moment of awkward silence when they were told.

Half-brother. Blaze, is Vincent’s half-brother.

The entire situation was beyond unexpected and Job leaned back in his chair, rubbing his hands through his hair. Zat jaw just dropped when he heard. Dumas ended up coughing up his drink. Ronnie, who was tinkering with his prosthetic middle finger, dropped the heavy metal object onto the table with a loud noise that spooked everyone. The only on that did react, at all, was Tad. Looking at each other, they all went and looked at the cell phone to hear the rest of the conversation between Cyri and Blaze.

“Okay,” Cyri said, taken aback and tried to overreact at this entire situation. “Explain to me how in the fucking hell you could be Vincent’s half-brother? I mean, he told me that he never had any siblings at all and, WHAT?!” Blaze took a sip of his cappuccino, looked at Cyri with a smile, and rested his cup down.

“My dear, lovely lady,” Blaze said, crossing his legs and resting his hands onto his knees. “let me explain my past to you about how I came to be and through this tale of my life, you can understand my position in this story. Vincent’s father, may he rest forever in peace, one night when he was drunk made one of the most foolish decisions of his life and broke into the house of Vincent’s mother’s closes friend named Debbie. Debbie, her poor soul, did not know at all why he was there but also made the foolish choice of letting him into her house. Sense I do not like thinking about the events, I will safely put it that he violated her and took her innocence away. All of these events that you know happened about a good six months, six days, and six hours after the birth of his son, the well known Vincent. Debbie did not go to the police to report this hatred of a drunken man to the police, but instead talked to Veronica about this and made the choice that she (being Debbie) would move away from Veronica so Vincent would never know that I exist in this world.”

“Would Vincent by chance knew about you being his Step Brother?” Cyri asked.

“That is what saddens me. I have meet his mother. She said that, while she was sad about what had happened, she asked that I would never reveal myself to him as being his Step Brother. As you should know, he already hated his father. I doubt he wants any more hatred in his heart. To much hatred kills a man. That I should know.” Blaze gulped down the rest of his cappuccino. “You see, my hatred for what Donnie has done to me and my family has been eating me away for years. It has driven me mad. So, in terms of hatred, I know the effect it has on people.”

“So, me telling him about you is already out of the question.” Cyri said sarcastically.

“Absolutely not a sound.” Blaze said, his voice instantly grew darker. McCartney and Stalin turned in unison towards their leader. “If he finds out, then you would have just made another enemy. And one little fact that you should be aware of: having someone like me is never a good idea to have as an enemy. We know every little thing about you. Your past, present, and your possible future. We know every step not only you, but all of your friends also will and have take. You tell Vincent GesuDio anything about this, and you would have just signed your very own death wish. Do you understand?”

“Blaze, he will never know.” Cyri responded.

“Good. Good. Good.” Blaze released a sigh. “I think that you and I will be good friends and who knows, in the future, you may need my help.”

“That I doubt.” Cyri said, leaning back in her seat.

“You think so? Most people that say that end up needing me sooner or later. So, I would not be saying that as of now. But, seeing as how you are the new leader of The Children Of Darkness and you still respond to Vincent, I have a request for you: Tell him everything that you have heard here today. I want him to know all about us and in great detail. I want him to know what I know. I want him to know, I want him to know. And I want him to have his gang and ours to be combined in order to form one in unison to destroy Angels & Demons. Forever.” Throwing his napkin onto the table, standing up, he grabbed Cyri's hand and kissed the top of it. “Until we meet again, I bid you farewell.” His two friends stood up and followed their leader to the counter to pay for their food and drinks, and then they left. Cyri just sat there. Shock.

“Jesus Christ,” He said, leaning back. “May I ask who the fuck knew that Blaze was Vincent's half-brother?”

“How were any of us suppose to know something like that?” Ronnie asked, putting on his prosthetic, then just taking it off and throwing it on the table, it making a sound that filled the entire room.

“Do any of you guys think that Vincent will ever know?” Zat asked, taking a sip of some beverage that he had beside him.

“Doubt it.” replied Job. “I believe that if he did find something like this out, then all Hell will break loose more than when those kids attacked that school in Littleton some years ago. This is not an easy matter and it is something that I am starting not to, at all, care for.”

“I have to agree with Job.” Dumas said. “I mean, me and Zat where there during the attack. What we saw threw the slashes of silver shine that the knives that his friends -”

“McCartney and Stalin.” Zat interrupted.

“- had, trying to slash us, he had genuine expression of unbeknownst in response to Blaze. He would have known who he was and try to talk him down. But he did not.” Dumas took another sip of his drink.

“Later on tonight, I am going to contact Cyri and talk with her about all of this. I am not going to be surprised if she is beyond disturbed by this and has no idea what to think.” They are started mumbling together. Only one person never spoke. That was Tad.
