The Book Of Vincent. Chapter Thirty One

Chapter Thirty One

To be honest, Coraline did not know why she was walking with Tad. Maybe it just felt right to her? It was all by chance? Or maybe it was because he just happened to be walking the same path as her. Either way, she was glad that he was there. Made her feel a little bit better.
“Have you ever noticed the roses before?” She said.
“In this park, where you walk towards one side to another, it is hard not to notice them.”
“A lot of people say things like that.” She said taking a deep breath. “People are aware that they are there, but they never take time to actually notice what they are. A pity at times that such wonderful things, such as roses, go unnoticed.” Coraline looked up into Tad's face. “You seem rather distant today. Anything on your mind you wish to share?” Tad was rather silent for a few moments.
“I am just not liking Vincent. That is all.” Tad said, taking a deep breath.
“Let me guess: The entire ordeal with Cyri and London has gotten to you?”
“Not just that.” He stopped walking and stared into her eyes. “It is the entire fact that he, first of all, did not get us involved at all and second that he is constantly putting Cyri into danger. I just do not see his logic. Yes, we are suppose to be stopping gangs and put an end to them, but this is madness. Something will go wrong. That I am sure of. I just do not want anything to happen to her. If something were to happen, then I have no idea how in hell I could forgive myself.” They continued walking until the found a bench to rest in. Once they were rested, Coraline began talking.
“I know about your love for Cyri. I know that you care a lot about her. But I am starting to think that you being over protective over her is starting to take a toll on things. I mean, you need to allow her to be a big girl and fend for herself. I know that you do not want her putting her life in danger, but think about this: she is a person. She can make her own choices.”
“Fine. Then what are your thoughts on Vincent then?”
“Well,” She took a deep breath. “Other than the fact that he is going over board on this to an exaggerated extent, I think that what we are doing will be for the greater good. Now, is he a good leader? Personally I do not think so for I believe that if he was, then he would have informed us about London, but I know from speaking with Cyri after the meeting that it was all for the best. They had a short amount of time and for all of us to be involved would have taken much time and that was time that they did not have. But, for now on, sense we are more than likely going to be attacked constantly by other gangs, we ar going to be keeping tabs on each other. If there happens to be another attack, then we will need to be able to help that person when the time comes.”
“I still think and as long as this continues, that this is a mistake and we will need to put an end to it. But as long as Hitler reincarnated is still alive, that will not happen anytime soon. I mean, what is he gaining from this? Power? Control? Taking over the fucking world? I just can not see his logic. Yes, originally it was that we were suppose to stop gains, but this was not what I had in mind. What do the others think?”
“Maxine thinks that this is the right thing. If you remember what she said, she prayed about this ever sense the death of Ratliff and now something about this gang makes sense to her. Joan thinks that this will start to get interesting and is wondering how much more longer this will last. She sees this as a game, and is not taking this that seriously. I am hoping that soon she will understand about the seriousness of this entire plan. What have the guys thought?”
“Most of them think that Vincent is evil. But are willing to follow his orders seeing as how he has led this this far. It is simple as that. But they are afraid that one of us will die. I hope that that will not happen.”
“Then do not say it!” Coraline said. “You will only jinx us. So, now the final question of this discussion comes to it's climax: what are you going to do?” Tad leaned back, looking up towards the sky.
“For now, I am just going to do what he says. Who knows, I could find something of a plot hole in his logic and prove that he is the idiotic leader I know that he is. Even if it ends up being ten years from now.” Then they were quiet for the rest of the time they were hanging out.
