The Book Of Vincent. Chapter Twenty Five

Chapter Twenty Five.

It has been a few days sense Vincent meet Donnie, and the arrival of Jadis at his house was completely unexpected. Vincent was at his computer, writing some thoughts that he had gotten stuck in his head, drinking some iced beverage when Veronica came to him, saying that he had a friend down stairs. Pouring two drinks, he went down stairs and saw to his shock that Jadis was down there, sitting on one of the chairs. Her legs were crossed, hair tied back.
“Hello Vincent,” She said taking a deep breath. “It has been a bit of a while sense we last spoke.”
“Yes,” Vincent said, giving her one of the glasses. “Too long. Strange how two friends will be in the same class at school and never say a word to each other, is it not?”
“Yes. It is the ninth wonder of the world.” Jadis took a sip, and smiled with satisfaction. “Before we get into the main topic of this entire discussion, please tell me what you have been up to.”
“Well, nothing that much at all. Got into a fight with Cyri -”
“Over Donnie no doubt.” When Jadis said this, Vincent was shocked.
“Wait, you know about that?”
“Yes.”
“How?”
“Well, because, I saw you and Donnie brawling it all out on Sunday. I was thinking of seeing you guys, but I was interested mostly with the conversation that you two were having.”
“Sense we are know on the topic of Donnie, what can you tell me about him?” Jadis leaned in her seat, taking another drink and a few deep breaths.
“Well, to begin with, I did at first try to stop her from being with him. You see, Donnie is known for being a womanizing bastard that can never be satisfied with one woman. He wants to be like an Egyptian king in which case have multiple lovers. Now, I know this because I, regretfully, dated him once. I do not know what I originally saw in him, but when we were dating, I found out a few rather shocking secrets about him.” She stopped for a few seconds and started walking around. The one thing that Jadis liked that most about Vincent's house was Veronica's collection of statues of rather large cats. She liked the detail that was put into them. The thought and care.
“What shocking secrets?” Vincent leaned closer, hanging on to every word that she said.
“Well, I will say one: He did try to create an organization that is similar to that of which you created. His is called 'Mufiat'. I have no idea what he could at the time be smoking, but he created that word. I was originally a part of the group. He did try to take down one group called Angels & Demons, but they failed miserably. It was humiliating.” Jadis sat back down.
“Do you know who could be running Angels & Demons?” Jadis laughed a little.
“I knew that you would be asking that. Talk to Donnie and that is what you will be wondering. No, I do not know who runs that organization. No one does and more than likely it will remain like that. But I know one thing: Donnie is not at all a guy that Cyri should be screwing around with at all. I mean, as a boyfriend, he will break her heart. As a gang leader, he is great. He almost cracked down on the leader, but there was a rat in the group. They tried to attack us, but Donnie beaten the living shit out of him.”
“Did you know who the suspects were that Donnie had?”
“No. I never knew. But one thing that I know: Over all, there is something very off about him. At least, I want to know this: Why did he not pressure to investigate more further into this gang. That is what I want to know.” Vincent sat in silence.
“Could and/ or would you like to team up with me to investigate into all of this. I mean, you must still have some knowledge as to this group and more of a back story into Donnie than he led to tell me.” Vincent looked at Jadis seriously. Jadis burst out laughing.
“How did I know that you were going to ask me that?” She took another swig. “Alrighty. I will help you sense I hate this guy and I do not want him at all still alive. But,” Vincent cussed her out in his head when she said that. “there is one thing that you must agree on: Me and my boyfriend must be part of this.” Vincent looked up. This was not something he expected.
“that was not expected.” He took a breath. “Can you tell me who it is that you are with?” Jadis shook her head.
“I can not tell you that know. But, if you are still interested, meet me at my house later on. We will discuses what we will be doing there. Until then, au revoir.” She let herself out of the house with Vincent half stunned at the luck about the chance of cracking the case on Donnie. But, one thing still puzzled him: If she was part of a gang previously, then why did she not tell anyone when The Children Of Darkness first formed?
