Why is love controlling: An Original Non-Lyrical Poem.
By: Zach Brehany
Why is love so controlling?
Why is it that love controls us?
Forces, and pleasures us
to say and do thing we
would never do?
Why is love evil?
Wastes our time
our life
our connections?
Why is love painful?
Seeing the one with someone,
Creating an immature feeling
of jealousy?
Creating monsters
who ruin others life?
Why is love such a dark pleasure?
Why does one person love another,
but the other never realize it?
Why do we, as humans,
try so hard to have others
see as we see
feel as we fell
know as we know?
Why is love a double edge sword?
One end is good,
the other hurtful.
One end is pleasure
the other pain.
One end is happiness
the other sorrow
one end is love
the other hate.
Why is love is controlling?
Possessing.
Demanding.
Knowing.
Hurtful.
Sinful.
Love changes us.
But is it for the best?
The worst?
Or nothing?

The True Heart: An Original Non-Lyrical Poem.
The True Heart: An Original Non-Lyrical Poem.
By: Zach Brehany
I feel like she never cares
that I am here to fill up space
she says I am close
but why do I feel so far away
she is everything
I am nothing
my polar opiate
can never change
I fear
I worry
I wish she'd understand
how I feel
how I feel
she's everything
everything I
love
care for
feel for
live for
what am I?
Plain and simple: nothing
with others she laughs
is happy
she is content
Me:
somber
A presence of sadness
I want her to feel
as I feel

Fleurs du Mal: An Original Non-lyrical Poem.
Fleurs du Mal: An Original Non-lyrical Poem.
By: Zach Brehany
I see her from a distance
every day
I hear her voice
like the song of a bird
I see her
but she does not see me
not really
Too me, she is everything
but she does not realize it
She sees me
but not in the same way
I feel jealousy
such an immature feeling
I look at her
and I feel both
delight and sorrow
Delight that she knows me
Sorrow for she fills me
with feelings of dishonor
Whenever I see her,
my heart stops
stops for joy
stops for sorrow
stops for pleasure
stops for pain
Joy
her attitude
her smile
her intellect
her presence
Sorrow
Trapped in an isolated world
can never be mine
does not see me as I see her
never loves me how I her
Pleasure
being with her
talking
walking
spending time with me
hearing me out
forgiving
Pain
knows me, but does not know me
hears, but does not understand
wants freedom, but it hurts her
she is my fluer du mal.
I want her forever.
The angel of my dreams
The demon of my nightmares
She gives me power
steals my love
stole my heart
I never want it back.

The Girl Of Light And Darkness: An Original Non-lyrical Poem.
The Girl Of Light And Darkness: An Original Non-lyrical Poem.
By: Zach Brehany
She sits there all the time
watching her world melt
her past highly checkered
she is the girl of light and darkness
pestered by
bothered by
haunted by
the ghost of her past
past family
past friends
past lovers
past memories
locked in her room
caged like a lion
her soul dies
she fights the demons
joins the angels
but darkness can be so tempting
the girl of light and darkness
tries to find refuge
two protectors
one guided friend
but darkness creeps in the corners of the mind and soul
always
the temptation is too great
dark, sinful pleasures
she was weak
she fell into the void
the void of sin and no return
God gave her wings
wings that she may fly
only escape the darkness.
But darkness is still there
evil never dies
evil lives
friends abandoned her
friends spit and turn there backs on her
why not?
Friends are fiends
without the “R”
The girl of light and darkness
abandoned
alone
looks to save her life
destroy darkness
against her final friend
the light in her dies
darkness of her soul takes over
evil has reigned.
Equipped with an arm
at the house of Him
she confronts the Darkness
destroys him for his evil deeds
he done
unto her
confused, wondering,
darkness beheld the girl
the girl of light and darkness
introduced her arm to him
the shot
an explosion of fire and powder
went threw him.
Dead.
Ends the reign of evil.
Arms extended,
God takes her
takes her into His kingdom
after a bullet of darkness went threw her.
Impaled her.
“Why?
Why am I being accepted?”
God looked and smiled:
“When you purse wrong doing,
you take a step away from me.
But in my service.”
The girl of light and darkness
free from darkness
the girl of light.
